The AION Experience
Chad October 6th, 2009
Over the past few weeks with the release of AION US, my life has pretty much revolved around AION. During the day I help customers with orders, answer questions and at night I play AION. I’m even testing out an AION bot for personal use and to see what our competition is capable of. AION has become a fairly popular game and has a good size gaming community and many popular community forums.
AION – Tip of the day! Blocking Spammers
One of the most annoying things when a game becomes popular is all of the in-game spamming! I hate it and I know you do too and that is why you will never see my company participating in this form of advertisement. And to help fight this annoyance do the following: Right Click the persons name doing the spamming in chat and click “block”. Once they are blocked you will no longer see their advertisements and be able to see LFGs again!
AION – Speed Leveling
If you have not noticed, over the past week we have almost doubled our estimated time of completion for our packages and custom levels. The reason for this is due to many factors but just because the estimated time of completion is doubled does not mean it will take us twice as long. We prefer to give our customers a reasonable amount of time vs. something we know is not possible or unreasonable.
I’ve also noticed that many of our competition have started to drop their estimated time of completion to unreasonable amounts. Example is AION Powerleveling 1-45 in 15 Days! This is unreasonable and when contacting the company and enquiring how that is possible and proof that they can complete this. Their response is, just purchase it and we’ll prove it to you. I don’t know about you but I prefer proof prior to purchase!
So if you are out searching for a company to level your account, please tread carefully when you see sites offering unbelievable leveling speeds. There are hacks out now and even if they are not using a hack, it is a good bet things will not turn out well in the end.
AION – Death and Money Sink
NCSoft has done a really fine job in creating many forms of money sinks in the game. One of them being their Death Penalty and having to pay for Soul Healing to get some of your XP back. I have noticed in my 30s each death costs me around 18-20k and this can add up really quick for a power leveler on a bad connection!
I experience around a 400 Ping when playing AION and I live in the Washington State. When I get ping spikes and hit 1000+ I will usually end up dead if I’m in the middle of a fight. This is one of the biggest problems within the game as your average power leveler plays with 500-1000 ping! So they deal with rubber banding through their whole session.
The solution to the ping issue is to grind on low level mobs, so that there is a very low chance of dying. But who wants to grind on mobs 2-4 levels below you for hours on end. No one and this is why nearly the entire AION Powerleveling industry has switched to botting. Bots do not complain about killing the same mobs for days on end and just does it is designed to do “GRIND”.
AION – I see Bots!
Early last week I reported briefly on AION US bots that started to pop up. Well now they are all over the place and many botting programs that works in previous version of AION are now all supported for US version. This is mainly do to game guard being turned off and companies not having to worry about software detects.
This has created a mass hysteria and a witch hunt for botters and caused some heartache. I have had reports from friends and a couple customers that they have been kicked out of their guilds because they guild members thought they where botting. The funniest thing so far is the post on AION Online forums that my guild is a bunch of botters. Well I can say they are the loudest bunch of botters, I’ve ever met as we all chat on vent while grinding.
The real issue here is how to tell if someone is botting and will NCSoft do anything about it. So far NCSoft doesn’t care or has done anything about it, they can make posts, etc… but action speaks loader then words. So far we have reported daily of the people we know from other guilds that are actively botting and not one has been banned.
What does this mean for you? Well if you buy a Power Leveling order, I wouldn’t care too much if the company is botting your account because most likely they are. Now what you should care about is if they are Farming or trafficking Kinah with your account. That will actually lead to account closure as there are reports from our gold farmer friends of account closures for that.
So the good news for the day is that Account Sharing and Botting won’t get your account closed but kinah “gold” farming might.
